Description
This is a 3-day precision-rifle course focused on short range (0-300 yards) that will teach you all the basics for developing a great foundation in precision (sniper) shooting. The course includes instruction in an introduction to precision rifles, how to select, set up and care for your rifle, as well as the use of precision scopes for long to extreme long-range shooting. The course will focus on ballistics (internal and external), zeroing at 100-300 yards, reticle ranging with Mile and MOA scopes, establishing a DOPE (Data on Previous Engagement) card for your rifle (comeups and come-downs) from 100 through 1,000 yards. This is formally termed developing a ballistic data card; it is used for precise elevation settings for your rifle and scope. Instruction will also include holdover calculations, speed dialing for rapid target engagement, tandem precision coordination dialogue (shooter and spotter), as well as other principles to be discussed in the course. Due to demand, this class is by reservation only. Please contact us for availability.
You will be firing live ammunition and a variety of shooting scenarios and positions. You will be required to bring specific gear; we will send you a list of items to bring prior to the course. And, as with our other shooting and survival courses, the goal of this course is to prepare the individual for potentially deadly encounters! Please do not add this course to your cart until you have filled out an application (Contact Us for one) and have been approved for the next scheduled class.
